What is a cookie?

Why does PYXIS use cookies?
- To ensure that the website works properly and you enjoy an optimal user experience
Session cookies permit us to see which parts of the website you have viewed during your visit. This allows us to adjust the information on our website to our website visitors’ surfing behaviour. These cookies are automatically deleted when you close your web browser. - To collect data for general research and analytical purposesTo determine which parts of the website interest our visitors most, we use cookies to measure how many visitors arrive at our website and what is viewed most. We compile statistics from the information collected, which provides us with insight into how we can adapt the structure, navigation and content of the website to your preferences. The statistics and other reports created are not traceable to individual persons.
- To allow us to integrate social media on the website
Our website includes a number of buttons to promote or share web pages on the Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter social networks. Such buttons work using pieces of code supplied by these social media. Cookies are placed via this code. We have no control over this. We would therefore advise you to read the Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter privacy declarations for information on how they process your (personal) data using these cookies. The information they gather is anonymised as far as possible. The information is transferred to and by Twitter, Facebook, Google + and LinkedIn and stored in servers located in the United States. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Google + state they adhere to the Privacy Shield principles and are part of the American Ministry of Trade’s Privacy Shield programme. This means an appropriate level of protection is in place when processing personal data.
